Bluntisham and Colne Stage Group

An amateur dramatics group in Cambridgeshire

Come backstage with BaCStage

We are a small but dedicated band of players bringing the magic of live theatre to Bluntisham, Colne and beyond, and having a lot of fun in the process.

It’s more than just acting…

We are an amateur group made up entirely of volunteers but we aim to produce high-quality shows by unleashing a range of creative talents! We stage two productions a year, in the spring and autumn which range from comedy and farce, to drama and pantomime. We rehearse in the Old Day School in Bluntisham and usually perform at Bluntisham Village Hall but sometimes in Colne or further afield.

ACTING

Tread the boards, play a role and become a star!

DIRECTING

Bring a script to life and boss people about a bit.

SET BUILDING

Most of our shows feature a full stage set which we design, build, paint and dress ourselves.

PUBLICITY

We design our own posters and flyers and publicise our shows on our website, Facebook, and through a number of local businesses and publications.

SOUND AND LIGHTING

We create the perfect ambience with our theatre-grade sound and lighting equipment.

MAKE-UP AND COSTUMES

We make our actors look the part with stage make-up and costumes that we make, source or hire.

STAGE MANAGEMENT

Making things run smoothly on stage relies on the organisation of our stage managment team behind the scenes.

AND MORE…

It takes a wide range of skills to put on a show. Most of us had no previous experience before joining BaCStage.

Get involved…

We’re always on the lookout for new people to join us, both on and off-stage. If you fancy having a go at acting or directing, or you’re a dab hand with a paintbrush or a powertool, a whizz with a sewing machine or you make a good cuppa we’d love to hear from you. Drop us a message using the form at the bottom of this page – local stardom guaranteed!
