Coming soon – Murdered To Death
Mildred is so looking forward to the weekend, when her friends come to visit. It will be the first time they have all been together since Paris, almost two years ago. She can’t wait to see Charles again, dear Charles, even if he is bringing Margaret – the wife – with him this time. Then there’s Pierre, such a charming young man; and Elizabeth, so sophisticated and refined. Of course, Joan Maple may come up from the village and invite herself in, but Mildred won’t let that spoil the weekend. Miss Maple means well, even if she is an interfering busybody.
Mildred’s enjoyment of the weekend is spoiled somewhat when she is unexpectedly murdered to death. But who is the killer? Surely not one of her friends? But if not, who? Her niece Dorothy, perhaps, with whom she shares – or rather, shared – Bagshot House? Dorothy is her only living relative, after all. Or maybe it was Bunting the butler, who’s lived at Bagshot House for years keeping secrets below stairs? Or perhaps Miss Maple’s amateur sleuthing is in fact an elaborate cover story…
Thankfully the police are on hand to investigate, in the shape of the aptly-named Inspector Pratt, assisted by Constable Thompson (or is it Thomkins…?) The question is, how many more deaths will Bagshot House witness before the pair of them unmask the murderer?
